Description:
BIOTIN-PEG-Alkyne is one of Click Chemistry PEG reagents that contain a terminal biotin and an alkynegroup on each PEG terminus. Alkyne group is one of most commonly used ClickChemistry functional group that can react with azide group. Reaction between alkyneand azide proceeds easily in aqueous solution catalyzed by cooper ions. Highyield reaction of alkyne and azide enables the conjugation of biotin tag to targetedmolecules efficiently. Biotin is a commonly used bioactive tag that can bind toavidin or streptavidin with high affinity. Biotin/streptavidin system has beenused widely in bioassay development, protein and nucleic acid detection andseparation. Alkyne functionalized biotin PEG allows biotinylation of varioussubstrates with high yield.
